Recently the “Drench” brand of drinks is becoming increasing popular through a range of funny and in this case just plain weird adverts. The first one I saw was of “Brains” from Thunderbirds pulling off some funky dance moves, which ended with the tagline “Brains perform better when they’re hydrated”. More recently, the Drench Goldfish advert was doing the rounds, with a Goldfish completing a number of crazy obstacles!
The latest drench advert (see the video above) is creating quite a buzz online. Stephen Fry’s tweeted it, some people love it, some people think it’s just weird…. but in characteristic drench style this clip is just as bizarre.
It features a man with a cube puzzle for a head, and he has to twist parts of his skull to solve it and match his face up like an organic Rubik’s cube… The music is pretty cool too – seventies kids should remember the fitting 1979 anthem ‘Oops Upside Your Head’. The music also seems to be a characteristic of the Drench adverts, with many people asking what the music was to the Goldfish Drench advert (Push it to the limit”, a classic 80s song by Paul Engemann).
Anyway check it out and see what you think!
