Drench Goldfish advert

This is a very funny advert to promote Drench, the new brand of bottled water. The video stars the worlds smartest goldfish, as it’s memory is tested to the limit in order to complete a complex obstacle course and a variety of memory tests. When the goldfish looks like it is starting to struggle, a little more Drench is added to the water and the goldfish manages to regain 100% concentration!

The goldfish is CGI and so it’s quite amusing especially as the music they have on their stereo is “Push it to the limit”, a classic 80s song by Paul Engemann. This video is just one of a series of videos used as a campaign to promote Drench online. The key message is that your brain is 75% water, so you need to keep hydrated (or drenched!) in order to be able to keep your brain working at a 100%. The only flipside to this marketing campaign that I can see is that it’s just ordinary water, right? So although they might be building some great brand awareness with these adverts (I also really liked the Thunderbirds Brain advert!) is it really just advertising water? :)
