Drench cube head video

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Recently the “Drench” brand of drinks is becoming increasing popular through a range of funny and in this case just plain weird adverts. The first one I saw was of “Brains” from Thunderbirds pulling off some funky dance moves, which ended with the tagline “Brains perform better when they’re hydrated”. More recently, the Drench Goldfish advert was doing the rounds, with a Goldfish completing a number of crazy obstacles!

The latest drench advert (see the video above) is creating quite a buzz online. Stephen Fry’s tweeted it, some people love it, some people think it’s just weird…. but in characteristic drench style this clip is just as bizarre.

It features a man with a cube puzzle for a head, and he has to twist parts of his skull to solve it and match his face up like an organic Rubik’s cube… The music is pretty cool too – seventies kids should remember the fitting 1979 anthem ‘Oops Upside Your Head’. The music also seems to be a characteristic of the Drench adverts, with many people asking what the music was to the Goldfish Drench advert (Push it to the limit”, a classic 80s song by Paul Engemann).

Anyway check it out and see what you think!

North Londonshire Pigeons

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

Found this video on You Tube the other day, it’s a pretty neat video with pigeons flying from London to North Londonshire which from the website seems to be around the Northamptonshire area. This video is pretty funny and the funniest thing is it is creating quite an uproar with the locals!

Apparently the locals don’t approve with the name North Londonshire as they don’t live in London and don’t want to? Well I think they’re overeacting a bit as the name is obviously taking in jest as people often refer to London as Londonshire and the are trying to promote the area as being a nice place to live so should take it as a compliment! Just my opinion though.

Enjoy yhe video and if you want to personalise and send to your pals- or the Northamptonshire locals to piss them off go to www.northlondonshire.co.uk/a-place-for-you.
The only thing that pisses me off about the video is I now have Matt Monro stuck in my head and have been singing “there’s a place for you” all morning! So be warned you may start singing Matt Munro yourself ha ha…

Family Guy: Peter Griffin poops his pants at joke punchline

Monday, July 19th, 2010

*** THE SOUND QUALITY ON THIS VIDEO IS POOR – YOU MAY NEED TO INCREASE YOUR VOLUME ***

I know that I really shouldn’t find this THAT funny, and that the recent videos on this site are definitely becoming more and more crude, but when I was sent this video it really made me chuckle. In this clip from Family Guy, Peter Griffin walks into the drunken clam to meet Joe and Quagmire. Quagmire has recently told a joke to his son, Chris, that got him suspended from school and rather than being annoyed, he admits he wants to hear the joke.

On hearing the joke punchline, Peter laughs so hard that he “poops his pants” and has to change them. On returning to the bar, Quagmire says the joke punchline again and Peter has the same “reflex reaction” which gives Joe and Quagmire an idea for some pranks.

Peter tries to avoid them because they’re quote, “ruining all his pants”, so they text him the joke while hiding outside his window to see the reaction. My favourite part is when they’re spying on him from Quagmire’s bedroom. As Peter gets into bed in his clean pyjamas, Joe gives Quagmire a nod, signalling him to go to sleep. In his dreams, Quagmire meets up with Freddy Krueger and is seen handing him the joke and paying him some money. The show returns to Peter’s room where he starts laughing in his sleep, which wakes lois. She is furious when she realises he has completely soiled the bed. Peter then says:

“If you poop in your dreams, you poop for real…”

Another high brow comedy sketch!!! :)

Jizz in my pants

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

This is probably not what you were thinking (Jizz in my pants is a very dubious title!), as it is infact a very funny music video that has been created by “The Lonely Island”. I had never heard of these guys before, but they are pretty well known (this video itself has had over 5 million views on YouTube) and have actually created a number of other videos including some cameos with some well known celebrities an other musicians, including a video called “on a boat” with T-Pain (that video has had over 13 million views)!!!

This particular video features two guys that are, well, a little bit sensitive! It starts off like a normal cheesy music video with two guys checking out the girls in the club, and one of them is doing quite well and takes a girl back to her flat. They are about to start kissing outside her front door when suddenly the singer pulls a very funny face and starts having a mini fit as the lyrics “I jizz in my pants” play over the top. Here are the lyrics leading up to this point:

“I move in close as the lasers fly
Our bodies touch and the angels cry
We leave this place go back to yours
Our lips first touch outside your doors
The whole night what we’ve got in store
You whisper in my ear that you want some more
and I jizz in my pants
This usually never happens, you can take my word
I won’t apologise that’s just absurd
It’s mainly your fault for the way you were dancing
and I jizz in my pants
Don’t tell your friends or I’ll tell them your a slut
Plus it’s your fault you were rubbing my butt
I’m very sensitive some would say that’s a plus
Now I’ll go home and change…”

The video then changes onto the second guy who has a similar issue talking to an attractive checkout girl in a supermarket which is also really funny, mainly due to the “epic facial expressions” as described by one of the viewers in the comments. It then gets a bit crazy as pretty much anything then causes the same reaction!

The SEO Rapper – Design coding

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Apologies for this, it’s geeky and niche, but being part of a Manchester SEO I love it! The video is of the Poetic Prophet (AKA The SEO Rapper) and in this video he is rapping about “design coding”, where he gives advice and guidance on how to design a website with SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), usability and conversion considerations in mind but in a hip hop song. Not only is it quite amusing, but the song isn’t half bad and some of the information is really quite accurate! For someone that doesn’t know anything about SEO, this could be quite a useful song in terms of learning the real basics.

The Poetic Prophet is well known in the online marketing industry, with this video alone having had about 581,000 hits. The popularity of his songs has meant that he has performed guest appearances at SEO and online marketing seminars and conferences across the United States. “Design coding” is just one of an entire album of songs covering many aspects of SEO, including link building, black hat techniques, PPC (pay per click) and much more. Crazy, eh? Imagine listening to that in your car for some SEO tips will driving to your meetings!

Just in case you’re interested, here are they lyrics to his song:

Your site design is the first thing people see
it should be reflective of you and the industry
easy to look at with a nice navigation
when you can’t find what you want it causes frustration
a clear Call to action to increase the temptation
use appealing graphics they create motivation
if you have animation
use with moderation
cause search engines can’t index the information
display the logos of all your associations
highlight your contact info that’s an obligation
create a clean design you can use some decoration
but to try to prevent any client hesitation
every page that they click should provide and explanation
should be easy to understand like having a conversation
when you design the style go ahead and use your imagination
but make sure you use correct color combinations
do some investigation, look at other organizations
but don’t duplicate or you might face a litigation
design done, congratulations but it’s time to start construction
follow these instructions when you move into production
your photoshop functions then slice that design
do your layout with divs make sure that it’s aligned
please don’t use tables even though they work fine
when it come to indexing they give searches a hard time
make it easy for the spiders to crawl what you provide
remove font type, font color and font size
no background colors, keep your coding real neat,
tag your look and feel on a separate style sheet
better results with xml and css
now you making progress, a lil closer to success
describe your doctype so the browser can relate
make sure you do it great or it won’t validate
check in all browsers, I do it directly
gotta make sure that it renders correctly
some use IE, some others use Flock
some use AOL, I use Firefox
title everything including links and images
don’t use italics, use emphasis
don’t use bold, please use strong
if you use bold that’s old and wrong
when you use CSS, you page will load quicker
client satisfied like they eating on a snicker
they stuck on your page like you made it with a sticker
and then they convert now that’s the real kicker
make you a lil richer, your site a lil slicker
design and code right man I hope you get the picture
what I’m telling you is true man it should be a scripture
if it’s built right you’ll be the pick of the litter
everyone will want to follow you like twitter
competition will get bitter and you’ll shine like glitter
if you trying to grow your company will get bigger
design and code right man can you get with it

Improv piano guy on Facebook Roulette and Ben Folds

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

I had only recently heard of “Facebook Roulette” when I was up late one night, and caught an episode of South Park. In the episode, Kyle is trying to get more friends on Facebook so he and Cartman are using Facebook Roulette to try and find interesting people. Basically, it is an application that will randomly connect you to other Facebook users that have the app and you can chat using using the keyboard or a webcam. The ongoing joke with this is that most of the time you will be connected to someone who wants to show you their… well, penis!

This post contains two videos, the first (above) is called “Improv Piano guy on Facebook”, where he has recorded himself using Facebook Roulette and speaks to the users in song. Improv Piano guy (aka Merton) is very talented, and very funny as he sings about what he sees, and a lot of people actually mistook him for Ben Folds who is a very famous and talented musician, who uses the piano as his main instrument.

Having heard about this, Ben Folds decided to try it himself on stage! He dressed up in the same clothes as Merton and created a video called “ode to Merton” which you can see below. This must have been really funny for the audience, and it must have been a shock for some of the users of Facebook Roulette as they suddenly realise they are live in front of 2,000 people while Ben Folds sings to them. They only showed one guy that was doing something weird (in the bathroom!) but I’m sure there were many more that have been edited out.

The Expendables (2010)

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

When I first heard about the upcoming movie, “The Expendables”, my first thought was “Hoooolllyyyyyy crap!”. Being an 80’s kid, I naturally grew up on healthy diet of 80’s action movies, including Rocky, The Terminator, Die Hard etc etc, and this film seems to have an unbelieveable cast with nearly every 80’s action star and more at least making a cameo appearance in the film! Don’t believe me? Check out some of the cast…

- Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, Rambo)
- Dolph Lundgren (Red Scorpion, Universal Soldier)
- Eric Roberts (Best of the Best)
- Mickey Rourke (recently Domino, the Wrestler)
- Bruce Willis (Die Hard)
- Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator, Predator)

Some newer faces include:

- Jason Statham (The Transporter, The One)
- Jet Li (Romeo Must Die, Unleashed)
- Steve Austin (WWF wrestler)
- Randy Couture (Prolific MMA fighter, Redbelt)

Unbelieveable right? It’s interesting reading the comments on YouTube and a number of other forums, where some people are saying that this will be the best film in the world even if it’s rubbish! Here are some of my favourite comments:

“Chuck Norris isn’t in this because they knew that if they put him in:
1. Every boy that watched this movie would be turned into a grown man instantly
2. Every man that watched this would explode from an overkill of pure manliness
3. Every female that watched this would be turned into a man
4. Riots would break out from every (real) man in the world flooding every theater this movie played in.
5. Forget the Gayon collider in europe, THIS would have made a black hole on earth.”

And…

“Let me just say, this is cinema history, f**king amazing to see sly, arnold and bruce willis together in a movie , even if its just for one scene , who cares, its f**king legendary, also great is that a we can see dolph lundgren and sly in the same movie once more, and that is cool in my opinion, apart from that the rest of the cast is also insane, austin, statham, lee, couture, roberts, rourke…”

There are of course some other famous 80’s action stars that aren’t in the film, and these are the most popular missing actors based on the forum discussions:

- Chuck Norris
- Jean Claude Van Damme
- Mel Gibson
- Steven Seagal
- Kurt Russell
- Wesley Snipes

It is believed however that Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme and Kurt Russell were all offered parts written specifically for them, but for one reason or another they turned them down. What a crying shame!?

The film itself looks pretty damn good! It is due for release in the UK on September 2010. My advice, keep you’re entire month free for this date, as this film is cinema history!!!

UFC stars in King of Queens episode

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Tonight I was eating my dinner quite late following a busy day, and I put on King of Queens on Comedy Central for something light. In this particular episode (called Fight Schlub [2006], Season 8, episode 22) the main character “Doug” (played by Kevin James) is having trouble with some priority one delivery men (Doug and his friends work for a rival company). They decide enough is enough, and that they are going to confront them in the bar to sort it out once and for all. They walk up to the table where the priority one drivers are drinking beer (this used to be their table), and start the ball rolling insisting that they move to another table. The priority one drivers ask “how that is going to happen”, and Doug clicks his fingers and three other drivers emerge from the bar to back them up. He looks back at the priority one drivers only to see that they have been replaced with a number of menacing looking drivers. I had to a double take, and almost inhaled some of my red thai curry, but the fighters were made up of younger looking versions of UFC fighters (from left to right) Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Randy Couture, Dan Henderson and Frank Trigg!

Not wanting to back down, Doug punches Dan Henderson (Hendo) in the face, only for him to smile and remove his false teeth! As they try to run away the UFC fighters, they grab hold of them and perform a number of ground and pound moves, ending with Doug being knocked out by Randy Couture with a head butt. The scene is hilarious, and you can hear Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson laughing in the background.

I had to check to see if this was on YouTube, and thankfully some kind soul has uploaded it for all to see… Enjoy!

Vote E4- Fixing Broken Britain – then breaking it again!

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

With the election just weeks away we have seen party political broadcasts from the Labour party, conseratives, Lib dems and BNP (as well as the odd online vid from the green party!) but none of them are as good as E4’s party broadcast that is going out between all your favourite E4 programmes!

This first aired last Monday night which was a quick turn around from the election date being confirmed on the Sunday night! It is really amusing as it shows the famous E4 and channel 4 voiceover man Peter Dickson. He is wearing tweed and commentates using his distinctive style. I love the comments of ‘fixing broken britain, then breaking it again, then fixing it again just to make sure!’ The video shows off how britain is happy again since they started showing E4 shows such as glee!

This is a very funny video and if only we could vote for the E4 parte – Britain may be a happier place!

Boxer can’t get into the ring

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

This is a very funny boxing video of an amateur boxing match, where one of the fighters can’t get into the ring. As he approaches the ropes he looks very uncoordinated, and can’t work out how best to get in! Worrying… You would hope that he’s had some experience of getting into the ring before? He decides that the best approach is to roll under the ropes!

Apparently this fellow goes on to win the fight (shocking! I’m guessing his opponent can’t have been up to much!) but he seems a little off balance as he falls into the ropes on his way out. He then tries some crazy way of getting out of the ring, lifting his right leg over the third rope, only to get tangled up and eventually swinging upside down and falling out of the ring.

He walks off rubbing his lower back, but I would hope that it is his ego that is hurting more than his injuries…
